[[Category:Fatigue | Fatigue]] is the weakening or failure of a material caused by repeated applied loads. It combines the material’s multiscale internal structures with the cyclic boundary conditions (loads, displacements, etc.) generating ultimate failure. The maximum stress that causes such failure may be much less than the yield or ultimate strength, because of the internal damage progression due to local heterogeneities inducing stress concentrations.

Fatigue

is the weakening or failure of a material caused by repeated applied loads.
