Overview

There are several 3D printers available at CAVS, one of which includes the MakerBot Replicator 2X 3D printer. The MakerBot Replicator 2X is a 3D printer utilizes the polymer ABS to create 3D objects. Known as an "experimental 3D printer", it allows for a quick and easy prototyping process. It accepts .stl files that can be created with any CAD modeling software such as Solidworks, Catia, Siemens NX, and Autodesk Inventor to name a few. The downside to this 3D printer is the size of objects that can be printed, with the build volume being only 9.7 X 6.0 X 6.1 in.
