Crystal Plasticity

This assignment was to study a single element FEM model with 1, 20 and 400 grains. In each case simulations were run for three different loading cases: tension, compression, and simple shear (the displacement for all of them set to 0.75). The results for each load were compared to the four different hardening values, as shown below.

The input files provide were Umat_xtal.v3r.for, Texture.txti, test.xtali. The path of the first file had to be modified and the number of grains in the other two also had to be adjusted. In the Abaqus input file the devpar value must be 70 * Ng where Ng is the number of grains. Once modified the boundary conditions and loading for each load case also had to be adjusted.
